We’ve been patiently waiting, but Spring really hasn’t sprung yet. While we have seen a few warm days this month, April has been pretty chilly.
April has brought us a bit of everything, snow, rain, tornadoes, cold and warm temperatures. But despite a brief warm up we’re still running well below normal.
Most of the high temperatures for April are below normal. We only had six days this month where highs were at or above normal including an 80 degree day on April 13th.
So far this month our average temperature is 44.4 degrees. That’s about six degrees below normal.
As for precipitation we’re sitting at 4.7 inches which is about an inch and a half above normal.
Much of the rain we saw was on April 3rd, when we picked up 2.88 inches.
The cool and wet conditions have put us in the top spot for the month. Right now it’s the 9th coldest on record and the 11th wettest on record.
Temperatures will continue to rise for the end of the week we may break out of the top ten coldest April’s on record soon.
