Celebrate the royal wedding with British flair

Local News

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – Windsor Castle is a bit of a distance but The Pub in Beavercreek is letting people enjoy the ceremony with some British flair.

“We’ll be featuring English tea service,” said Logan Hooper, general manager of The Pub. “We’ll have a brunch menu, bloody mary bar and we’ll be celebrating the royal couple as nuptials.”

Hooper said he has been receiving a lot of interest in their event

“The more contemporary nature of this wedding courtship has really got a lot of people intrigued,” said Hooper.

Nancy White said she watched the weddings of Diana and Charles, Kate and William, and is planning to catch the action there at The Pub.

“I just can’t wait to see them, they’re all so beautiful it’s just like you’re part of it,” said White.

And she doesn’t seem to be the only one!

“I’ve been watching the news all week in preparation so we came out to The Pub today just to get in celebration mode for the big wedding tomorrow,” said Tom Brookey. “It’s like nothing we have here in the United States, so that’s pretty exciting.”

But with the fairy tale happening to an American actress, Brookey said we do have a vested interest.

“Blending the countries together a little bit, good for everybody I guess,” said Brookey.

And that mesh of the two countries being The Pub’s bread and butter, or should we say fish and chips, Hooper said they are going all out.

“Wedding attire is encouraged,” said Hooper. “The staff is dressing up, you’ll probably see a lot of big hats, fancy outfits. We don’t really know what to expect, but we’re getting behind the celebration for sure.”

The brunch begins at 6 a.m. at The Pub at The Greene.
