Car leads police on chase, crashes in Trotwood

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are looking for two people who ran after crashing a car in Trotwood early Friday.

The car crashed after leading police on a chase.

The pursuit started just before 3:20 a.m. Friday.

Dayton Police say officers spotted a car near Gettysburg Avenue reported stolen during an aggravated robbery on April 3rd.

Officers tried to pull over the car and it took off, leading officers on a chase. Police say speeds neared 70 mles per hour during the chase.

Police lost the car, but found it again a short time later crashed into a tree near the intersection of Denlinger Road and Bloomfield Drive in Trotwood.

Authorities say two people inside that vehicle ran away.

Police used a Miamisburg K-9 unit to track the suspects, but didn’t find anyone.

The incident remains under investigation.
