Car destroyed by fire in alley behind Dayton home

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Investigators are working to learn what caused a fire that destroyed a car in Dayton early Wednesday morning.

It happened in an alley in the 600 block of St. Nicholas Avenue, near Lorain Avenue.

Firefighters responded to a 911 call just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and found a car on fire.

Crews worked quickly to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading to a nearby garage.

No one was injured.

A 2 NEWS crew at the scene saw police detain one person. Officers didn’t say if the man was connected to the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
