Call for justice after fatal hit-and-run

Local News

The brother of a man killed in a hit and run last month says the family is still searching for answers.

Forty-six-year-old Daniel Lingerfeld was struck and killed by a car at the intersection of Olive Road and Shiloh Springs Road in Trotwood on March 30th.

The driver has never been caught.

Daniel’s brother, Barry Lingefelt offered a tearful plea for the driver responsible to come forward.

“Just turn yourself in,” he said. “I pray that God forgives you. I know it was an accident.”

Barry said Daniel was struck by two cars in March while he was walking down Olive Road.

“The second car didn’t notice him and dragged him 150 feet before they realized he was up under the car,” Barry said.

T second driver pulled over and dialed 911 once they realized they had hit someone.

But the first driver sped off – and hasn’t been seen since.

“I’m looking for closure and justice,” Barry said. “He didn’t deserve to die that way. Nobody does.”

He continued: “He was loving. He thought the world of everybody. He’d give you the shirt off his back, literally. It’s been hard for everybody.”

Trotwood Police are investigating the incident.
