Butler County Sheriff’s Office cruiser hit in Franklin

Authorities are looking for the suspect in a vehicle that side-swiped a Butler County Sheriff’s Office cruiser.

Franklin Police say the crash happened at the intersection of Second Street and Main Street just before 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the press release from the Franklin Police Department, a blue Ford Crown Victoria ran a red light on South Main Street and hit a Butler County Sheriff’s cruiser.

Officials found the license plate in the road even though the vehicle drove away from the scene.

Authorities later found the vehicle abandoned on Farm Avenue.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Deputy was not hurt.

Authorities didn’t release information on damage caused to the cruiser.

Police are still looking for the suspect in this case.
