HAMILTON, Ohio (WDTN) –A Butler County man police believe to be the head of a drug trafficking ring is in jail after investigators found methamphetamine in his car.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Office said Friday the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics Task Force stopped a car driven by De’Antae Lamont Tae Wallace, 31, on April 24.

Investigators say they found more than 400 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine in Wallace’s car. Officials say Wallace tried to destroy the drugs as officers made the stop.

The Sheriff’s Office said the traffic stop and arrest concluded a lengthy investigation into narcotics being transported and distributed in Butler County. Authorities believe Wallace is the head of the distribution organization, using several methods of transportation of narcotics into the Butler County area.

Wallace is now in the Butler County Correctional Facility being held on felony charges of drug possession, drug trafficking and tampering with evidence.
