Body found in Greene County now murder investigation

Local News

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – The Greene County Sherrif said Wednesday the body found along the Little Miami River is now a homicide investigation.

Leonid Clark’s body was discovered by three men who were mushroom hunting in the area April 12. Greene County deputies were called to the scene and located Clark’s body.

Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said in a news conference Wednesday there were no identifying marks on Clark’s body and he was identified through palm and fingerprints.

Fischer said an autopsy showed Clark’s death was “probably at the hands of another person due to some wounds that were on the body.”

A homicide investigation has now been opened in the case.

Clark was reported missing in February but Yellow Springs Police say he was last seen on January 13, 2019, according to the Greene County Sheriff.
