DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Better Business Bureau is warning residents about a new life insurance scam circulating.
Some citizens in the Miami Valley are getting mailings about “2018 Benefit Information for Ohio Residents Only.”
They claim you could qualify for a state program that would pay for all of your funeral expenses up to $35,000 as long as you send back an identification card with your personal information on it.
The BBB says a company is using this tactic to collect personal information and sell it.
They wish to warn citizens to always be wary of things in the mail offering free gifts.
