Arson investigators called to scene of house fire in Dayton

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – An arson unit was called to the scene of a fire Wednesday afternoon at a Dayton home that firefighters believed to be vacant.

It happened at a residence in the 200 block of Hoch St., where firefighters say heavy smoke could be seen from the second floor of the building upon arrival.

Dayton Fire District Chief Paul Raisch said that no one was home when the fire broke out and from what was seen on the inside, it does not appear that anyone actually lives there.

As a result, an arson unit came out to analyze the scene and determine whether the fire should be considered suspicious.

An immediate cause could not be determined and the incident remains under investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call (937) 333-4500.
