‘ArriveSafe’ program to give Montgomery Co. residents free cab rides Thanksgiving weekend

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – To help cut down on alcohol-related traffic accidents and deaths, Montgomery County residents can take advantage of a free cab ride service this Thanksgiving weekend.

ArriveSafe is a program that offers free cab rides home to those out celebrating on Thanksgiving weekend.

Rides start at 6 p.m. Wednesday and run through 6 a.m. Sunday.

The rides are offered for Montgomery County residents and fares are completely covered up to fifty dollars.

To request a ride, call ArriveSafe at (937) 449-9999.

“You have to remember, this year in Montgomery County, there have been over 200 alcohol-related traffic accidents that have resulted in 10 alcohol-related traffic deaths. The unfortunate thing is all of these, every single crash and death, could have been avoided if the person would have simply made the right choice and the right decision,” said Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck, Jr.

You can also ask a friend or family member to be a designated driver or use an Uber or Lyft to get home.
