DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – More than 500 people gathered Saturday morning at Delco park in Kettering for the annual “Walk MS Dayton”.
The walk is organized by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and helps benefit patients living with MS. Studies now estimate nearly 1 million Americans live with MS, more than double the previous estimate.
Last year the group raised more than $60,000. This year organizers hope to raise that much by early June.
Mary Vandeneroek is the walk chair and a member of the board of trustees. She says, “this is one of our biggest events, yes. Last year we raised $63,000 and had 606 walkers.”
