Animals transferred due to shelter capacity

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Animal Resource Center says they have begun transferring animals to other area shelters and rescues because they have too many at their locations.

They will continue to take in animals, but ask that you call ahead first.

“If you’re moving and you need help finding alternatives for rehoming your pet with another owner, we’d like to facilitate owner-to-owner adoptions so that the animal doesn’t have to come to our shelter at all, we can help you find a home without having to bring them to the shelter,” says Communications Manager Brianna Wooten.

Anyone interested in adopting a pet is asked to go to the Resource Center’s location off of Webster Street.

More than six dozen animals are ready for new homes, for as little as 20 dollars.
