DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County is hosting “An Uncommon Affair – Spring Fling” on May 10. Jana Gruber, Development Coordinator for the Center, joined 2 NEWS Monday with the details.
The fundraiser is being refreshed this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the organization, including a new “spring” theme and featuring comedian Drew Hastings.
“Our mission is to reduce family and relationship violence in Greene County. The way we do that is through prevention, intervention, safe housing, and we also work with collaborative community programs,” says Gruber, going on to add that the organization’s two main sources of funding are grants and fundraising.
In addition to entertainment, guests will enjoy an evening of dinner at fun food stations; a “dessert dash;” wine, beer, and bourbon tastings from local breweries and distilleries; and a silent auction.
The event takes place at 6 pm on May 10 at the Greene County Exposition Center building at the Fairgrounds.
Tickets are $75 each and include dinner, entertainment, and three complimentary drink tastings. Note that registration closes on May 2.
