DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Butler Township Police Department responded to the Amar India restaurant Monday morning for a case of breaking and entering.

Witnesses saw a male running away from the business, located at 7070 Miller Lane. Upon investigation, officers found that the front door of the restaurant had been broken, and a small amount of money was taken from inside.

The Vandalia Police Department and Huber Heights Police Department assisted in searching for the suspect. Hours later, a Vandalia officer saw an individual matching the description of the suspect walking along North Dixie Drive near Benchwood Road.

Officers stopped the man, identified as Mark A. Lairmore of Dayton. Butler Township detectives arrived at the location and positively identified Lairmore as the suspect based on video evidence.

Lairmore was placed under arrest and the property stolen from the restaurant was recovered on his person. He is currently incarcerated at the Montgomery County Jail and the case will go before the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office for charges later this week.
