Activists rally for health care outside Rep. Turner’s office

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A group of activists organized a rally in front of Congressman Mike Turner’s office in Dayton on Friday.

“Protect Our Care” advocates for coverage of all pre-existing conditions.

“We want to let Congressman Turner know that people want their pre-existing conditions protected. We want the Affordable Care Act to stay in effect and continue to give us health care,” says Dr. Tanisha Richmond.

Congressman Turner released a statement in response to the rally, saying:

“Hospitals are reimbursed an average of only 87 cents of every dollar they spend caring for Medicare patients, which will result in hospital closures. Medicare for All would decrease patients’ access to lifesaving health care and is not a solution to the broken Obamacare system.”
