911 Caller tells police man tried to lure child in Oakwood

OAKWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – Oakwood Police are investigating after someone reportedly attempted to lure a child into a car.

According to a police report on the incident, it happened around 8 am Thursday near the intersection of Harman Boulevard and Hathaway Road in Oakwood.

According to a 911 caller, the 8-year-old girl was on her way to school when she was approached by a man in a small gray car. The man asked the girl to get into the car.

The girl returned home and told her parents who then called the police.

The driver was described by the child as a young black man with short black hair and a gray sweatshirt.

Oakwood Police Chief Alan Hill tells 2 NEWS this was an isolated incident and his department has increased patrols in the area.
