DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — An 8-year-old girl who was killed after being hit by a truck in Kettering has been identified.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified the girl as Jozlyn Vickers.
A representative for the Kettering Police Department (KPD) said law enforcement received a call Sunday around 12:56 p.m. to respond to the 1200 block of Imperial Drive in Kettering.
According to KPD, Vickers was in the parking lot of an apartment complex when a resident backed up their vehicle and ran her over.
The child was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where the representative for KPD says she later died.
No charges have been filed at this time.
Kettering Police says the incident remains under investigation.
