5K run/walk raises awareness for colorectal cancer

Local News

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN)  Runners from across the Miami Valley gathered at Welcome Stadium Saturday morning for the annual No Buts About It 5K.

Dayton Gastroenterology hosts the race every year to support colorectal cancer awareness month. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the US. Doctors say early screenings can reduce the risk of cancer by more than 80%.

Doctor Jonathan Saxe says this event brings awareness to the community. “We’re out here to let people know there’s ways to screen for this and hopefully prevent it.”

This is the 12th year for the event.
