2 people shot at Dayton apartment complex

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Two people were seriously injured in a shooting at a Dayton apartment complex Monday morning.

Police responded to a reported shooting on Riverside Drive, between E. Hudson Avenue and Ridge Avenue just before 7 a.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, they found a man and woman shot inside the apartment building.

One of the victims indicated the suspect may have been hiding in a closet before the shooting happened. 

2 NEWS will not air the 911 call out of respect for the victims currently fighting for their lives. 

In the call, one of the victims identifies a suspect. The Dayton Police Department would not comment on the investigation.  

Both victims were taken to Miami Valley Hospital with reported life threatening injuries.

As of 6:00pm, Monday, the case is not being considered a double homicide. However, detectives are activly looking for more information on the suspect and what exactly happened. 

Police have not released any suspect information yet.
