Teen found dead in Harrison Township shooting identified

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – The teen found dead after a shooting Thursday night in Harrison Township has been identified.

The Montgomery County Coroner identified the teen deputies found in a car with an apparent gunshot wound as 15-year-old J’Yon Kolby-Lee Manson-Coleman from Dayton.

Another man was hospitalized.

Montgomery County Sheriff deputies and Trotwood police were called to the area of Klepinger Road and Evansville Avenue at 7 pm Thursday to investigate a person who was shot. When deputies arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. The unidentified man was taken to the hospital. He told deputies to check the area around Michigan Avenue for a car with a second gunshot victim.

Deputies searched that area and found a person, later identified as Manson-Coleman, dead inside a car in the 3600 block of Michigan Ave. with what deputies called an “apparent gunshot wound.”

This incident is still being investigated by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit. The cause and manner of death have not been determined.
