17-year-old killed in Harrison Township hit and run identified

HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) – The teen killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian strike Tuesday night has been identified.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said  Wednesday Dyimond Wright, 17, was killed when she was hit by a car in the area of Carson Avenue and North Main Street just after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators say Wright and another woman were walking down the middle of N. Main Street near the intersection. That’s when a vehicle going north on N. Main Street hit Wright in the left lane.

The other woman was hit by a vehicle going south on N. Main Street in the left through lane.

Both vehicles drove away without stopping.

Investigators say one of the pedestrians was hit by other vehicles while she was on the ground.

Deputies say Wright died at the scene. Medics took the 23-year-old woman to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities say she’s listed in critical condition.

Investigators say the vehicles that hit the pedestrians would have substantial damage to the front of those vehicles. One of them is missing a driver’s side mirror that was found at the scene.

The color of one of the vehicles may have been blue.
