11 labor and delivery nurses at Miami Valley Hospital pregnant at same time

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A baby boom is coming to the labor and delivery department at Miami Valley Hospital, but it is not the patients. Eleven unit nurses are all pregnant at the same time.

The nurses said there have been waves of pregnancies in the past, but never this many at one time with due dates just months apart.

“Like four months of each other,” said one nurse.

“It spans from May 8th, to October 29th,” added another.

Some of the eleven are expecting their first child, others their second.

But those who are already mothers said this adds a whole new element to their pregnancy.

“We can kind of compare pregnancies and morning sickness,” said a third nurse. With one more joking, “Share our horror stories.”

The nurses joked with 2 NEWS, the pregnancy is not contagious, but said they are sharing many things, like their cravings for pickles, all the way to the support system that they say is second to none.

“I love the coworkers being able to possibly deliver me,” said one nurse. “You know, I trust them, I trust the whole unit.”

They said of the eleven babies, three are unknown, two are girls, and the rest are boys.
