DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton Police were called to a possible domestic dispute at a west-side market Wednesday.
Police were called shortly after 9 am Wednesday by a woman who said she was being followed and threatened by a man.
Sergeant Creigee S. Coleman said Wednesday the incident began when a man and a woman got into an argument. The woman got into her car and drove away but the man followed her.
Coleman said the woman told Miami Valley Regional Dispatchers the man was following her on Third Street and had rammed her car.
The two people then went inside the Delphos Carryout in the 2900 block of W. Third Street where the argument continued.
The woman told police the man had threatened to harm her and was known to carry a weapon. Coleman said a weapon was found at the scene but it is not clear who the weapon belongs to. That weapon is being tested by crime scene technicians.
The man was arrested booked into the Montgomery County Jail on domestic violence charges. The woman was taken to the Public Safety Building where she is being questioned by Dayton Police Department Detectives.
No one was hurt in the incident. Coleman credited the woman and Miami Valley Regional Dispatchers for providing the responding officers with detailed information about where the victim was allowing officers to quickly respond and diffuse the situation.
Police did not release the identities of those involved.
