DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — One person is dead after a house fire in Dayton on Sunday night.
According to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch, the call for a fire on Ashwood Avenue came in shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. The fire was reportedly called in by a passerby.
The Dayton Fire Department said that flames were showing upon arrival. They also learned that a victim was possibly still inside.
Fire crews immediately entered the home and began searching for occupants. One adult was found and removed within two minutes.
The victim was said to have sustained non-survivable injuries, but no one else was injured in the fire.
The Dayton Fire Department reported that the fire was contained to the front of the home and a damage estimate is pending.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
