Local kids in need get to “shop with a hero” at Meijer

News

MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – Meijer and local law enforcement join forces to spread some holiday cheer. The store held it’s “shop with a hero” event Tuesday night in Moraine.

Cops and firefighters from six different departments around the area identify kids in need in their communities. 45 boys and girls gathered at the store to shop for whatever they wanted but many of them also shop for others.

“We love doing stuff in the community. That’s what it is all about,” said Moraine Police Chief Craig Richardson.

Meijer sponsors more than 100 “shop with a hero” events like this across the Midwest. Its aim is build community-police relations and help children in need over the holidays.
