Local artist gives back to the community

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Local rap artist Kevin “K” Carter held a benefit concert at the Black Box Theater to bring awareness to Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley and benefit the organization’s food pantry.

Attendees who brought a canned good were able to see the concert for half price.

The Dayton native who grew up around the corner from the organization says the resources they provide are crucial.

“I understand where I came from but not only that I understand that there’s people out there that need help and I understand I have a platform and I want people to see it in a positive light,” Kevin “K” Carter said.

The choice food pantry annually assists over 18,000 adults and children in the greater Dayton area.
