Kettering puts up new signs for bike trail

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) –  If you’ve driven around the city of Kettering you may have noticed some new signs showing off its regional bike trail.

The city put up three new signs to point people in the right direction for the regional Iron Horse Bike Trail. It also passes through other cities like Dayton, Oakwood and Centerville.

The Kettering assistant city manager says people can expect to see more signs and bike routes.

“We’re ultimately trying to be a bicycle friendly community with the designation nationally,” said Steve Bergstresser, Kettering Assistant City Manager. “That’s our ultimate goal so we’re doing things that we can do that are low dollar amounts to increase bicycling and get a lot of bang for our buck by establishing those routes.”

He says their signs look like the others on the trail to keep the look consistent.
