MORAINE, Ohio (WDTN) – Governor Kasich brought his campaign to Moraine Friday night for a town hall meeting. In an effort to get the votes he needs on Tuesday to keep his campaign alive.
Inside the Fuyao Glass America plant, the presidential hopeful took several questions from the crowd, hoping his answers would resonate with voters.
A topic that often came up was how, if elected, Gov. Kasich would improve the country’s economy.
“If you want to answer peoples hopes and dreams give them the chance to get a job. That’s what our commitment has been here,” said Kasich. “Frankly folks, what I want to do is take the formula that works in Ohio. Take it to Washington and let’s take some Ohio to Washington to help the United State of America.”
The two term Governor, also brought to the audience’s attention how under his leadership, the former GM plant turned into Fuyao Glass America, and has turned the surrounding area around.
“The Chinese have made a $500 million investment here to try to make sure we can grow jobs and we heard a lot about people leaving america. It’s pretty great when we see a chinese company and hire a thousands of our people with more to be hired,” Gov. Kasich said.
State Senator Peggy Lehner was one of the speakers before Gov. Kasich took the microphone. She said Kasich has the experience for the White House and his stop in Moraine may help him win Ohio.
“This is a story about job creation. Turning communities around. This Governor has done it all over the state of Ohio and he can do it all over the United States,” Senator Lehner said.
Governor Kasich has said before that Ohio is his make-or-break state. If he doesn’t win the state on Tuesday, he’ll suspend his campaign.
