EATON, Ohio (WDTN) – WDTN.com reported April 21 that the City of Eaton is being used as a backdrop for a new movie and it quickly became the hottest click for days.

We now can show you some proof. Actor James Franco posted a couple of photos of himself on Instagram hanging out in the sleepy, Preble County town.

The photo shows Franco and a production partner grabbing some food at Dale’s Recreation restaurant on North Barron Street downtown.

Franco is in town to scout locations for his film titled The Long Home. It is set in rural Tennessee, so Eaton would be a stand-in city. He is also considering shooting in Lebanon.

We understand that filming is set to begin in Eaton on May 17.

The trip did not go on without at least one hitch. Franco also snapped a photo of his car stuck in some roadside gravel.

You can still apply to be an extra during the shoot. Send a headshot and email to thelonghomebg@gmail.com if interested.

Prospective crew members can send a resume to thelonghomefilm@gmail.com for consideration.
