GREENVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A Greenville man is in critical condition after a crash involving and SUV and a motorcycle in Greenville Township Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 6:20 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of S.R. 571 and Jaysville St. Johns Road.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says an SUV was driving south on Jaysville St. Johns Road. The SUV turned left at the stop sign at S.R. 571 and pulled into the path of a motorcycle.

The motorcycle hit the SUV in the side. The motorcycle rider, from Greenville, was thrown from the motorcycle.

Authorities called forCareFlight to transport the motorcycle rider, but it was not able to fly due to extreme fog.

Medics took the motorcycle rider to Wayne Healthcare. He was later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the SUV was treated at the scene and released.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office says the motorcycle rider was not wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
