DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Foodbank announced Tuesday they will host a mass distribution on July 24th for people in need of assistance in Greene County at the Nutter Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
People are welcome to come to the Nutter Center parking lot at 9 a.m. where they will receive fresh produce and other products at no cost. CareSource is sponsoring the event and will be volunteering their time to help pass out the food.
Michelle Riley, CEO of The Foodbank, says, “There are 24,830 individuals in Greene County alone who do not know where their next meal is coming from and we don’t want to see anyone go hungry in the Miami Valley. With support from CareSource, The Foodbank looks forward to serving those in need through this mass distribution.”
“CareSource’s support of the Dayton area Foodbank is an extension of our mission to serve consumers and support their health and well-being. Many of our 1.4 million members rely on the Foodbank’s distribution sites to receive fresh fruits and vegetables to supplement their meals. This partnership helps serve thousands of Greene County residents who may otherwise be faced with a limited food supply,” Cathy Ponitz Executive Director of the CareSource Foundation said.
Each person will be required to fill out a form stating they qualify for food assistance. You can see if you or your family meets the household eligibility guidelines by visiting The Foodbank website.
