Fire claims life of Auglaize Co. woman

MINSTER, Ohio (WDTN) — The State Fire Marshal Office’s is investigating a deadly fire in Auglaize County.

Janet D. Luthman, 78, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire started around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Garfield Street. When firefighters arrived, they said flames were shooting from the roof.

More than 30 firefighters from Minster-Jackson Township and New Bremen Township helped battle the flames. They were on scene until 9:30 a.m.

The house is a total loss.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
