Family members say woman died in Trotwood house fire

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) — The coroner has been called to the scene of a house fire in Trotwood.

The fire started just after 7 a.m. Tuesday in the 4800 block of Glenncross Drive, near Glen Helen Road.

Medics at the scene confirm one person died in the fire. Fire officials would not release the identity of the person who died until the coroner completed an investigation.

Family members tell 2 NEWS a woman died in the fire.

Fire officials say when crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames inside the house.

Crews were able to contain the fire to the inside of the home. The house sustained an estimated $30,000 in damages.

Fire officials say there were working smoke detectors inside the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
