DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after a Family Dollar was robbed at gunpoint and a mask was recovered.
Police were called to the store located at 1028 North Gettysburg Avenue Friday around 9:30 a.m.
A cashier told police he was ringing up another customer when a man came in pointing a silver revolver at him and demanding money. After taking money from the register, the man then ran out of the door towards the old Kroger.
Workers said there were other customers in the store at the time of the robbery.
Officials estimate the suspect got away with about $83.
Police said the suspect was wearing a black coat, blue t-shirt with a basketball and hoop graphic on it, black pants, white shoes, and a black beanie over his face.
A K9 was called in and led officers to a black mask on the ground behind the Family Dollar. The suspect wasn’t found.
