HAMILTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A small plane never took off, but still crashed in Butler County Wednesday.

WLWT-TV reports that witnesses saw the plane go down the runway then tip onto its nose and partially on its side.

Investigators say an 80-year-old man was working on his plane when the throttle got stuck. The plane veered into a grassy area then back onto the tarmac where it came to rest.

The pilot suffered minor injuries and refused treatment by medics.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating.
