SARDINIA, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a woman was killed when the SUV she was driving crashed into the back of a school bus in southwest Ohio.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says five students on the school bus were taken to a hospital with injuries that weren’t believed to be life-threatening. It happened at about 7 a.m. in Highland County, about 50 miles east of Cincinnati.
The patrol says 54-year-old Helen Dean, of Sardinia, was killed when her Honda Passport SUV crashed into the back of the bus as it was preparing to pick up students who attend a high school in Hillsboro. Dean wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
