SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) — A suspect has been arrested after authorities say he shot and killed his girlfriend on Sunday.

According to the City of Springfield, 34-year-old Christopher Carrington is accused of shooting his girlfriend, 23-year-old Tymesha Reed in a home on the 1200 block of Linden Avenue. Carrington then fled the scene, taking two of the five children in the home with him.

When police arrived on the scene, they found Reed’s body in a bedroom, a police report states. Carrington later turned himself in. The release said the children with him were unharmed.

Carrington was arrested on charges of murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence. The release states that he is now being held at the Clark County Jail

It is unknown what led up to the shooting at this time.
