DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – One of the two escapees from an Ohio correctional institution has been caught in Kentucky after a police chase, authorities say, while the search continues for the other.
James Lee, 47, and Bradley Gillespie, 50, were both on the run after escaping the Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution in Lima, Ohio, Tuesday.
According to KEHT, police officers in Henderson, Kentucky, located what they believed to be a stolen Mercury Capris convertible occupied by the two escaped inmates just after 3 a.m. Wednesday. When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, a pursuit began that ended with the vehicle crashing and the two reportedly attempted to flee on foot.
Lee was taken to a hospital and then apprehended. Gillespie, described as a bald man with blue eyes who weighs 200 pounds, remains at large.
If you see Gillespie, authorities warned you not to approach him and to call 911 immediately.
