COLUMBUS (WCMH) – Just a day before the majority of students return, police are urging caution after two female students were robbed near campus.

According to Columbus police, a female student was robbed in the area of East Frambes Avenue and Tuller Street. The victim told police that the suspect approached her with a gun, so she threw her belongings in his direction and ran.

No injuries were reported.

Police described the suspect as a black male standing between 5’9″ and 5’11″ and weighing between 140 and 160 pounds. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a black bandana.

Police said a similar crime happened on Thursday.

Another female student was reportedly robbed at gunpoint near Pearl Alley and 13thAvenue.

She described the suspect as a black male between the ages of 35 and 45, standing 5’10″ and weighing between 150 and160 pounds.
