SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) – Strong winds took down several trees along Remick Boulevard in Springboro early Thursday morning.

The damage left many residents and businesses without power.

Heather Klinger lives in the Settler’s Walk neighborhood where many homeowners are using generators for power.

Thankfully, her home’s electricity was restored a few hours after gusts took it out.

“The winds were extremely strong. you could hear them and feel them shake the house. It was quite an experience,” Klinger said.

Springboro resident, Cheryl Elmore hasn’t had power at her place for nearly 24 hours.

“I feel like it will be restored. I don’t know when but hopefully soon,” she said.

Electricity was out all day at the Coffman Family YMCA, forcing it to close for the day.

The area is serviced by DP&L and Duke Energy. Officials with Duke Energy told 2NEWS power should be restored to all accounts by noon on Friday.
