Coroner identifies man shot and killed inside car on Dayton street


DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in a deadly shooting on a Dayton street.

Officials say 21-year-old Calvin C. Tribble from Dayton died in the shooting.

Police called in the shooting just before 9 p.m. Tuesday on Wentworth Avenue, near N. Gettysburg Avenue.

Dayton Police say a suspect fired shots into a vehicle on Wentworth Avenue, hitting the victim at least once.

The man, later identified as Tribble, died at the scene.

Police chased a car believed to be connected to the shooting, and found it abandoned a short time later.

There were two people inside the car with Tribble when he was shot. Officers interviewed both people about the incident.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Dayton Police.
