Clues from gas station armed robbery end up at crash scene


HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a gas station is held up at gunpoint and some key pieces of evidence were found at a traffic accident.

It happened Saturday after 10 p.m. at the BP located at 110 Shoup Mill Road.

Deputies said the man approached the clerk with a handgun and demanded money. The clerk complied. Deputies said the man then fired three shots into the ceiling before fleeing.

Officials said the suspect was wearing a dark colored Adidas jogging jacket with white stripes down the arms, khaki shorts, and white gym shoes.

A K9 was called in to track the suspect, but the search came up empty.

Shortly after, deputies received a call that Dayton Police were on the scene of a crash at North Main Street and Fernwood Avenue where a driver ran from the scene but left behind an Adidas jogging jacket with white stripes down the arms. Officials said a black cash till was also found inside the vehicle on the passenger floorboard. Deputies said a white gym shoe was left in the front yard of a home just south of the crash scene.
