DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Tonight a local civil rights group is asking for action within the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department.

The group is also making allegations of racism and violence within the county jail.
“Is it a cover up? Is it lies? Is it racism? I believe it’s all of these things and because of that, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference is asking for Sheriff Plummer to resign immediately from the Sheriff’s Office and as chairman of the Republican party,” Richard Cox of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference says.
2 NEWS has reached out to Sheriff Plummer directly and to the sheriff’s office several times today for comment, but have not heard back.
