(KSNF) Some people hear bells at Christmas, but George and Mary Tarwater of Noel, Missouri hear stamping.
They’ve been married for 34 years and the have a yearly date at the post office stamping Christmas cards.
“We just keep doing it every year. We’ve done it probably 15 years,” George explains.
The two volunteer to help stamp the more than 40,000 cards that come in from around the world, all wanting that Noel postmark.
The town actually is pronounced two different ways.
“11 months before Christmas it’s ‘Nohll’ and during the Christmas season it’s ‘Noh-ell,'” Mary says.
