TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) — A checkpoint held in Trotwood Saturday night helped deter drunk drivers.
The checkpoint was held in the 4800 block of Salem Avenue at 7 p.m. Saturday.
According to officials, 392 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. No one was arrested for OVI, but one person was arrested on a misdemeanor charge and one person was issued a restraint citation. Officials issued a driver a misdemeanor summons arrest for possession of marijuana. One person was given a traffic citation for expired registration.
The Montgomery County OVI Task Force said there will be various saturation patrols throughout the month of May, which is when the “Click It or Ticket” campaign kicks off.
Officials warn, if you plan to drink, designate a sober driver.
