WILMINGTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Wilmington Post is currently investigating a car chase that involved three juveniles and a stolen vehicle.
The car was reported stolen in Columbus.
Friday, just before 5:00 in the morning, Troopers from the Wilmington Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol saw a car driving erratically. Troopers tried to stop the car but the vehicle fled and a chase began.
OSHP says speeds reached more than 100 mph on US 22. The car crashed into an apartment building before entering the city of Wilmington.
Troopers found three male juveniles in the car, a 17-year-old, a 16-year-old, and a 14-year-old, all from Columbus.
The 17-year-old driver was taken to Clinton memorial Hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The Investigation showed the juveniles had stolen the vehicle from a residence in Columbus. All three juveniles are currently in custody and awaiting an appearance before the juvenile court Friday morning.
They all could face charges of Driving Under the Influence, Fleeing and Eluding, and Receiving Stolen Property.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
