DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A touring C-SPAN bus made a stop in Dayton on Friday.

C-SPAN is touring across the country, including making several stops in Ohio this week.

Ohio Representative Steve Huffman says the bus is a great opportunity to start the conversation of politics.

“It’s really great that they get them involved in the political process,” he added, “In either party, to understand that their voice makes a difference, and that they need to get out and vote.”

A voice — 17 year old students across the state didn’t have before Tuesday’s primary.

According to the Montgomery County Board of Elections — 93 out of the more than 700 registered 17 year old voters actually voted in Tuesday’s primary election; however, Director of the Board of Elections, Jan Kelly, says that number may increase in the coming days.

Students spoke with members of C-SPAN, and were able to use technology on-board the bus.

“They have the opportunity to see what’s out there. To research and make an informed decision on who to vote for,” Rep. Huffman said.
