DAYTON (WDTN) – Fire investigators say landscaping problems caused a fire Sunday in Dayton.
It started in the 1400 block of Shaftesbury Road.

Firefighters say a person at the home went to set a small fire to clear some brush.
Investigators believe flames got inside the siding on the home and caused damage to the front walls.
“We advise anybody, fire is not the way to clear out brush,” Dayton Fire Chief Matt McClain said. “The City of Dayton has policies on open burning in the city and recreational fires and things like that.”
“It’s just not a good idea for clearing brush.”
Authorities estimate the fire caused around $10,000 in damages. No injuries were reported.
