COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) – A group looking to legalize marijuana in Ohio can move ahead with their plans.

The Ohio Ballot Board certified the ballot initiative Thursday for the group Better for Ohio.

The organization must now collect more than 300,000 signatures to get the measure placed on the ballot.

The signatures must come from at least 44 of Ohio’s 88 counties.

Better for Ohio is one of a few groups working to legalize pot in Ohio. ResponsibleOhio is nearing its goal of signatures to put its initiative before voters. The group Legalize Marijuana and Hemp is also working toward a ballot initiative.
